Pre-Departure Orientation Instructions

Congratulations on making it to The 21! We are so excited to serve alongside you this summer in Egypt. You have been chosen to be part of a very special service, and we are grateful for your willingness to offer your time, energy, and heart in service to the children and families we will encounter together.

This Pre-Departure Orientation is designed to give you all the necessary information you will need before traveling to Egypt. Each module will guide you through important expectations, guidelines, and insights that will help you make the most of your time during the program.

How the Modules Work

Each section of the orientation will include videos and questions. Please read the following carefully:

• Each module contains a series of videos followed by questions based on the content.

• You will need to complete the entire Pre-Departure Orientation in one session, so please plan accordingly.

• The full orientation will take approximately 2 hours, so make sure you set aside enough uninterrupted time.

• If you exit the module, refresh the page, or are disconnected for any reason, you may be required to restart the orientation from the beginning, so please make sure you are in a stable internet environment before starting.

• You will not be able to fast-forward the videos, so allow enough time to watch each one fully.

• You must answer all questions correctly before you are able to move on. The ‘Next’ button will appear when all correct answers are chosen.

• You will not be able to access the next module until the current one is fully completed.

• These requirements are in place to ensure that every Fellow receives the same preparation and understands the responsibilities of this mission.

What Happens After You Finish

A week after you complete all of the Pre-Departure Orientation modules, you will be added to a WhatsApp group with your site group and your teaching partner. This will be your main space for communication leading up to the trip, where you will be able to ask questions, receive updates, and begin getting to know the people you will be serving alongside. You will also receive an email with all of the necessary information and links to the forms required.
