Exactly a month ago this weekend, Coptic Orphans came to Santa Monica, CA for a fundraiser to benefit its work of providing education to Egypt’s fatherless children. About 120 people turned out at the Annenberg Community Beach House to hear Executive Director Nermien Riad and supporters of Coptic Orphans talk about the situation in Egypt and how Coptic Orphans is reaching children through education, mentorship and micro-finance for mothers. As a result of the dinner, twenty-two children received new sponsors.
