You can leave a lasting legacy in the fight against poverty and social injustice. You will continue to make a difference in the children’s lives by providing better education, housing and health care.

We recommend that you seek legal advice from your solicitor when preparing to include Coptic Orphans in your Will. Below is important information about the different types of Bequests along with suggested wording. If you decide to include Coptic Orphans in your Will, we would appreciate it if you notify us. This will allow us to strategically plan, keep you informed about our programs and to get in contact with you to answer any question or inquiries you may have.

Types of Bequests

A Residuary Bequest

– The most common type of bequest. It is a gift in the form of a specific percentage of what is left in your estate after all other specific gifts, taxes and debts have been fulfilled. Because Residuary Bequests are in the form of a percentage rather than a set amount, they reflect the fluctuations of the value of your estate. To leave a Residuary Bequest to Coptic Orphans, please consider the following wording for your Will:

“I GIVE free of taxes, duties, debts, funeral and testamentary expenses, [a per cent] of my residuary estate to COPTIC ORPHANS AUSTRALIA LIMITED [ABN 27 138 388 851], for its general purposes (or name a specific Coptic Orphans program) and direct that the receipt of the authorized officer of COPTIC ORPHANS AUSTRALIA LIMITED will be a sufficient discharge to my trustees.”

A Specific Bequest

A gift of a particular item of property which can be used by Coptic Orphans to generate funds. Specific Bequests can include shares, property, furniture, jewelry, or vehicles. To leave a Specific Bequest to Coptic Orphans, please consider the following wording for your Will:

“I GIVE free of taxes, duties, debts, funeral and testamentary expenses [item(s) being given] to COPTIC ORPHANS AUSTRALIA LIMITED [ABN 27 138 388 851] for its general purposes (or name a specific Coptic Orphans program) and direct that the receipt of the authorized officer of COPTIC ORPHANS AUSTRALIA LIMITED will be a sufficient discharge to my trustees.”

A Pecuniary Bequest

A gift of a set dollar amount determined by you at the time of making your Will. To leave a Pecuniary Bequest to Coptic Orphans. Please consider the following wording for your Will:

“I GIVE free of taxes. Duties, debts, funeral and testamentary expenses the sum of $ [insert amount] to COPTIC ORPHANS AUSTRALIA LIMITED [ABN 27 138 388 851] for its general purposes (or name a specific Coptic Orphans program) and direct that the receipt of the authorized officer of COPTIC ORPHANS AUSTRALIA LIMITED will be a sufficient discharge to my trustees.”
