Coptic Orphans USA
The
office based in the Washington, DC area has served as headquarters for
the international community of Coptic Orphans supporters as well as
the regional base for US outreach activities since founder Nermien Riad
began organizing a small group of family and friends to support fatherless
children in Egypt in 1988.

10, 2010: Coptic Orphans Earns Highest Rating for Second Consecutive Time
Coptic Orphans has earned the second consecutive 4-star rating for sound fiscal management from Charity Navigator, America's premier charity evaluator. "Only 21% of the charities [rated] have received at least 2 consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that Coptic Orphans consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way, and outperforms most other charities in America. This "exceptional" designation from Charity Navigator differentiates Coptic Orphans from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.

15, 2009: 6th Coptic Charities Conference - Coptic bishops emphasized the need for Coptic organizations to cooperate
and align their efforts so that the poor of Egypt will rece ive more
than mere cashflow, but real improvements that will help them become
self-sufficient. The bishops joined representatives of four other
sectors, including academic, government, and NGO for the first time
to talk about the potential of the Coptic diaspora to impact Egypt.
